Tara's passion for creating a collaborative recovery community has been the driving force behind the organization's success.


Aside from her work with The Hope Dealer Project, Tara also chairs a local Naranon Family Group meeting every week since 2016. This role reflects her commitment to supporting families affected by addiction, creating a safe space for them to share their experiences and find solace.


In 2017, Tara Mayson received well-deserved acclaim when her organization was voted as one of West Virginia's Wonder Women. This recognition highlights her exceptional leadership abilities and her unwavering commitment to her cause. Her work has gained national attention and recognition, with features in CBS News, People Magazine, and The New Yorker's "The Addicts Next Door" story.


In 2020, Tara founded VividVision Youth and Community Outreach, a youth and community initiative of The Hope Dealer Project. This initiative aims to assist economically challenged families in her community. VividVision organizes impactful events like the back-to-school supply drive and Halloween Trunk or Treats, engaging the youth in meaningful activities while addressing the needs of underprivileged families.


In 2023, Tara expanded the scope of The Hope Dealer Project by adding Martinsburg Goes Purple and Shepherdstown Goes Purple followed by an even more impactful endorsement by the Governor West Virginia Goes Purple, furthering their mission to combat addiction and support those in need.


Beyond her role as a Founder, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President, Tara is a single mom, balancing her responsibilities with her full-time job with the United States Government for nearly 15 years. Her ability to manage these roles while spearheading a vital nonprofit speaks volumes about her dedication and perseverance.
